Fabric Illustration for Fashion Designer Rachid Assoui.

Chique d'Afrique.

For his new collection Chique d'Afrique fashion designer Rachid Assoui asked me to create orientalistic fabric designs which are shown during the Africa Fashion Week in the Lazzoni hotel in Istanbul, where I also photographed the models on the catwalk.

“If you sing of beauty though alone in the heart of the desert you will have an audience.”

— Kahlil Gibran

“(…) And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.”

— Kahlil Gibran

The Milkmaid.

The fabric design of The Milkmaid is an African style
version of the famous painting by Johannes Vermeer.

Rachid Assoui.

Take a look at the website of Rachid Assoui to see his complete collection of Chique d’Afrique. All fabric designs have been beautifully photographed by Hans Withoos.

Eyeball Chandelier.

Artist Hans van Bentem made a sketch for an eyeball chandelier and I was asked by Rachid to turn his idea into another fabric illustration for the collection Chique d’Afrique. The result of this dress is photographed by Hans Withoos.

Eyeball Plaid.

Rachid Assoui used the Eyeball fabric design to create a limited edition plaid, made from super soft high quality recycled polyester. The top is as soft as fleece and the back has a sheepskin look.

Contact Rachid of you crave one.

Glam Rock.

For his new collection Glam Rock Rachid Assoui asked me to create a new fabric design pattern with iconic glam rock illustrations.
