And then there is more…

It all begins with an idea. Some of them evolve in enormous, daily projects, some remain small. But let’s not forget these delicate ones, because there is so much beauty in them too.

Tipsy.

I've been friends with Robert Fisher from 1999 on.
I was a fan of his music, he was a fan of my work,
and for years we've been updating each other on all progress.

In 2016 I decided to make an artwork for his song Drunkard's Prayer. The last mail I sent him contained the result as an attachment. He had been sick and died shortly after.

Tipsy is an ode to this remarkable man, singer and friend. Let's honour him with a Drunkard's Prayer.

Eye Be Dazzled.

"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."

An important paradox can be found in the current modern questions surrounding privacy and security. Technology is making control more and more possible in our society. Increasing amounts of and more detailed information are raising the degree to which people's behavior is monitored. Nowhere is this clearer than the invasive use of technology on the human body.

Rejecting this nanotech assault, Hanneke Wetzer creates bodies which develop defenses through disguises, cheats, games and camouflage.Technology wants to control the body but is met with resistance in the form of creative rituals and trickery.

Criterion

It is a common English idiom to say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but perhaps it is more accurate to say that beauty is in the geography, as cultural ideals of beauty vary drastically by region. Interestingly, the local environment seems to play an important role in what is seen as beautiful.

Criterion reflects on different cultures with their own primary criterion of beauty.

looking for nothing
but finding the world.

Orgasm Jewellery.

Hanneke Wetzer investigated her personal experience of the female orgasm to make a unique work for the exhibition Female Orgasm.
To her the female orgasm stands symbol for individuality, preciousness and inner desires.

Orgasm Jewelry are vulnerable jewels to cherish and can be custom made as a special personal gift.
The orgasm spasm is etched into the copper.
